New Instruments:

AEB-2 and AUB-2 Scroll Basses:

I'm still struggling to keep up with the orders for the AEB-2 and AUB-2. I have none in stock, other than several of my own demonstrators, and I currently have a 3 month backlog of orders. The next available instrument is s/n 059, which I hope to have finished around April 2003.

The New Devil Bass:

I'm finally getting the Devil Bass project going, and am now accepting orders for them. See the page on the link above for more details.

The SSB Short Scale Bass:

I don't have any SSB's in stock or under construction right now. I've been so busy on the Scroll Basses that I'm only building the SSB's on special order.

Used & Prototype Instruments:

I don't have any used instruments in stock here, however:

The owner of AUB-2 #026 has contacted me and is interested in selling it. It is a LEFT HAND fretless model in a custom dark brown sunburst. I built it in 1999, and it is a beautiful bass. The owner is in the Detroit area. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll connect you to him.

I also just got word that the owner of one of my early prototypes, #006, is going to be putting it up for sale. It's a fretted AEB-2 in the classic red/black sunburst, and is in excellent condition. It was one of the instruments that I sent to St. Louis Music in 1997, and it has the Ampeg logo on the pickguard. In late '98, I upgraded it to the '98-'99 pickup system. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll pass your name along to him.

Vintage Ampegs:

AMB-1 #000353
Model: Vintage Ampeg AMB-1 Scroll Bass, s/n 000353
Finish: Refinished to the original color scheme
Condition: This instrument came to me as a trade-in recently. It's all original and in good condition mechanically, and was obviously played heavily for many years. Like many Ampegs, the finish is badly peeling off, so I'm going to strip it and fully restore it to the original black/red color scheme. It should be a very sweet bass when it's done. Unfortunately, it is missing the chrome bridge cover, and I can't supply a replacement. It comes with the original hard case, which is quite beat up, but I'll try to repair it and make it functional. I can also supply a gig bag if you prefer.
Price: $1400

AEB-1 #793
Model: Vintage Ampeg AEB-1 Scroll Bass, s/n 793
Finish: Original red/black sunburst lacquer
Features: Very rare blonde fingerboard
Condition: All original, with very little wear. The neck has a mild twist, but it's still a good playable instrument. Because of the rare fingerboard, I haven't tried to repair it. The finish has the typical fine shrinkage cracks, and a few chips out, but is generally in good condition. I don't have the original hard shell case, but will supply it with one of my custom-fit gig bags.
Price: $1200
This includes a pro-quality padded gig bag, a spare set of strings, wrench kit, owner's manual, a letter of authenticity, and UPS Ground shipping within the continental US.
