AUB-2 #069

Back To AEB-2 Main Page..

This is AUB-2 #069, which is done in a special color combination that I'm calling the Scary Scheme. It's gloss black with red inside the F-holes and in the inside of the headstock. This combination happened sort of by accident. The customer, Robert Sands, had originally ordered #069 in the classic red/black sunburst color. When it was about halfway built, he asked if he could change the order to all black. By that time, I had already painted the insides of the F-holes red and glued the top and back of the body together. Repainting the insides of the F-holes black at that point would have been tricky. So, we decided to leave the insides red and paint the outside black. I came up with a matching theme in the inside of the pegbox of the headstock. It came out great, and is wild looking! So, this color scheme is available now for anyone else.

One other option on #069 is the partially lined fingerboard. As you can see, the white lines at all fret positions start on the edge of the fingerboard, wrap around the corner, and stop just under the E-string. The side dots are between the fret lines, as they would be on a fretted AEB-2. This is a no-cost option.

Everything else is standard Series IV configuration.
