AUB-2 #067

Back To AEB-2 Main Page..

This is AUB-2 #067, a fretless Series IV Scroll Bass in a custom color scheme. The owner, Harry Kay, requested this combination of gloss black with gold edging. The idea was similar to what I had done on my own AUB-2 #060 with red edging, but in this case I had to actually hand paint the gold. It was tricky and a lot of labor, but it came out well. If I do another one like this, I will probably charge extra.

AUB-2 #067 also has full white lines on the fingerboard, which is a no-cost option. These are thin white plastic strips set into slots at the fret positions. The lines extend around the corners of the fingerboard, and the side marker dots are the same as on a fretted AEB-2.
